Students will learn all the skills a young actor should have both in performance and technically. They will learn a new technical theatre skill each week and how those skills can be applied to acting, thus bridging the gap of "techie" and "actor" and becoming "theatre artists." We will accomplish all this be taking a classic children's story and turning it into a full discovered play!

Whether venturing into university, community or professional theatre this class is the first step. Through a combination of acting exercises and lectures you will gain a foundation of knowledge and tools designed to enable your growth as an actor.
After this six week course you will have an understanding of Stage Mechanics, Technique (external) and Method (internal) Acting as well a working knowledge of important industry terms (such as beats, 4th wall, sense memory, emotional recall) and their application.
This course is designed to help the actor develop and apply a process through which they can achieve greater truth, spontaneity and life in their performance.
