Educator, Actor, and Director of Theatre Education
After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Joseph used his master in
Education to bring the theatre model to schools in New York.
While studying acting with Uta Hagen and Stellar Adler he realized how easily text analysis could be incorporated
into a classroom setting. Further work with Nellie McCaslin in Educational Drama at New York
University made Joseph realize the multiple values of drama as a teaching tool. He created
a theatre arts program for the StonyBrook School District as he worked towards his masters
After receiving his degree Joseph taught in the theatre department at the
University of New York at StonyBrook for 12 years. He has mentored many educators and
librarians and on the many uses of theatre.
As a member of the American Alliance for
Theatre & Education he is a representative for the state of South Carolina.

I auditioned for the Actors Studio in New York City
and I got accepted. Mr. Baldino
gave me the ammo to be successful.
