Watch a cast of brave parents of our Youth Troupe trade their seats in the audience for the spotlight as they take the stage in Speed Date, a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud comedy that explores the awkward, funny, and sometimes absurd world of modern dating. This is a special, one-night-only preview performance, ahead of the show’s full run opening Feb. 20.

Speed Date is a short comedy play written by Janet Allard. It’s a series of short, comedic scenes featuring characters on quick-fire dates - each one more unexpected (and entertaining) than the last. Think big personalities, sharp humor, and lots of laughs.

Real Love. Real Breakups. Real Letters. Real Funny!
Letters/X is a hilarious and poignant collection of real breakups submitted by the public and adapted for the stage by Anthony Roberts, who also wrote the original songs inspired by submitted letters, text messages, voicemails, and other heartbreaking correspondence. SOBTC is proud to present the regional premiere of this long-running Chicago hit.
